So this week involved a lot of sitting and relaxing and then a few exciting days.

I went to Sandy on Monday and got to spend the day with my family which was nice. I ran some errands with my mom, we had lunch with Marissa and then hung out with Brandon when we got home. I miss them and wish I could come down more often! There are days when it is very hard being so far from everyone. I got home with only 20 minutes before I had to login to work. It was awesome!

We haven't watched very many movies this week. We watched 5 episodes of Firefly and we only have 3 left! We watched a few episodes of Big Bang Theory and are probably half way through the first season. I watched the first episode of the Dresden Files which was an okay show but it probably gets worse since there is only one season. I hope it gets better! It has an interesting plot. A wizard uses magic to solve crimes. It sounds cheesy and there was a little cheese in the episode but not too bad. I watched the Grinch with Tirza, Brandie and her daughter McKenzie since Tirza had never seen it before. She seemed to like it! I don't think Tyson has ever seen it and I don't think he wants to. I'm not Jim Carrey biggest fan but I thought he did a really good job with the it.

So this week I found out that I am NOT pregnant. I thought that I was pregnant because I looked up the symptoms and had a lot of them. Mood swings (poor Tyson!), nausea, cramps, cravings, extreme thirst, exhaustion, headaches, etc. I was waiting to take a home pregnancy test because I wanted to take it when I was sure it would be accurate. On Wednesday I woke up and I felt awful. I had really bad cramps and I never get cramps when I'm on the Pill. I was in a ton of pain and couldn't get a hold of my doctor. When Tyson came home I starting crying and panicking and he made a doctor's appointment for me. We were worried I was having a miscarriage because of my symptoms. The doctor did a blood test and found out I wasn't. My first thought was 'Then what the heck is wrong with me?!' The lab had closed by that point so he said he'd run some tests in the morning. We still don't know what it is because the tests for diabetes and a thyroid issue came back normal. At least I know for sure!

Tyson is still not feeling great. He almost completely lost his voice Saturday and is finally going to make an appointment. We both have been exhausted because he's been sick and I think I've been fighting off whatever he has. I haven't gotten sick but I've been very tired. Hopefully he gets some meds and is feeling better by Christmas!

We had 2 Christmas parties on Saturday. We had the one for Tyson's extended family and the one for my extended family. With his family we had lunch and played games. We passed around cards with cartoons and had to guess which Christmas song they were. Then we drew Santa on a big piece of paper taped to a door and each person took turns drawing a body part. He looked awesome when we were done! At my family party we talked to a few people and did the white elephant gift exchange. I got a puzzle. I HATE puzzles. I'll have to figure out a way to make Tyson do it! Tirza got a Reese's in the kids gift exchange but really wanted Brite Crawlers. She doesn't like Reese's so we gave it to my mom and got her some Brite Crawlers the next day. Poor kid. She was pretty bummed! At our Christmas parties we showed pictures to our families that we'd had printed and everyone said they looked great and then they said that Tirza looked like me! I was very flattered and surprised. I picked Tirza up from Girl Scouts on Friday and the lady who was hosting it said the same thing! In our Christmas pictures we have practically the same eye color. Its crazy!

This week will probably be a little bit busier with Christmas so we'll have more to post next week. Merry Christmas!

This has been quite the busy week! The best part was that Thursday was the 2 year anniversary of when Tyson and I had our first kiss and started dating. Its crazy because it doesn't seem like its been that long and at the same time I can't remember what life was like before Tyson. I must say that I think I got really lucky! Tyson is a wonderful person with a big heart and he is so kind. Tyson will do anything for his friends and he is always there for everyone. He is patient and loving and giving. He is a wonderful father. Seeing him with Tirza is the sweetest thing. He is so sweet to her and she just adores him. Hopefully this is just the beginning of our relationship and life together. Tyson is so easy to be around and I can definitely see myself being with him forever! I love him so much!! It was a really fun night and we had a very nice dinner at the Olive Garden and our server was really nice. He gave us free Zeppoli! We went and saw Tangled which I absolutely loved and Tyson really liked. I think I'll watch it again when it hits the dollar theaters and then buy it when it comes out!

As for the other movies we watched this week there aren't very many. We watched a few episodes of Firefly and we only have 8 episodes left which is good because we have acquired about 3 new shows that we need to watch after! I got seasons 1 and 3 of Big Bang Theory and season 2 has shipped so we'll be getting that soon! We have watched 3 episodes of that and I can't wait to watch more! I think that show is so ridiculously funny.

We got some new stuff this week! On Tuesday we got our new dishwasher. This of course happened after I decided I couldn't take the growing pile of dishes in our sink and hand washed everything- you guessed it!- on Monday. Oh well. I am very grateful to have it and since we live in an apartment we didn't have to buy it! We just washed our first load and it is so powerful and loud that while sitting in the office it sounds like a wave is coming crashing down the hallway. The other new stuff we got is our dressers! We finally have a matching bedroom set for the first time in either of our lives! We didn't unload the stuff out of the old dressers the night before they delivered the new ones so we now have FOUR dressers in our bedroom. It is getting pretty crammed! Thankfully we have a pretty big master bedroom. I unloaded most of my stuff into my dresser (I have so much crap I got the bigger one :)) and Tyson will load his dresser when he is feeling better. They look so good!! I will post the after pictures once we get the old dressers out.

This week has not been a great one for Tyson. The poor guy is very sick and has had a sore throat most of the week. When he woke up during the week his throat was so sore he could barely talk. He started getting congested and feeling worse just in time for the weekend. Work has not been helping either. The new company that took over requires the employees to pass exams on their policies. The graveyard guys have not passed all of their exams and Tyson had to get up at 3 am Friday morning to go in and train them. They had to have their exams passed that day. He was so exhausted that when he came home after the furniture delivery guys left he passed out for almost 4 hours. He is going to make a doctor's appointment so hopefully he'll be feeling better soon!

We played a few fun games this week. We played Carcassonne on Wednesday with Tirza and I won for the first time ever! It was with Tyson's help of course since he's played it more and knows how to strategize. It is a game where you build a map tile by tile and create cities, roads and a river. Everything is worth a certain number of points and there are certain pieces that give extra points. Of the 150 or so total points I got, 50 of them were from one city! It was a lot of fun. We also played In a Pickle with Tyson's brother Brandon, his wife Ashley, and friend Jared. There are 320 cards in that game and we spent 3 hours playing them all! The game starts with 4 cards in the middle and each card has a noun. You can put something that is bigger or smaller on it and it goes from there. So you can start with an airplane and then put microwave on top and the next card has to be something smaller than a microwave. Whoever puts the 5th card on the pile keeps it. We played all of them! It was a lot of fun! The best one was that one of the starter cards was a pear tree. I said "Wouldn't it be cool if there was a card with a partridge on it?" and Jared drew the partridge card! We had a partridge in a pear tree :) Surprisingly we didn't play Last Night on Earth this weekend but I'm sure we'll play it soon!

Tyson's family Christmas party was Saturday night. Everyone was coming over for the UFC so Lisa decided to make it a party. She prepared a ton of food for everyone and it was so good! Troy made his famous salsa that I am addicted to and I watched him make it and he told me what he did. I can't wait to try it at home! In all, the people who were there was Ashley, Brandon, Jared, Robbie, Brandie and her sons Lucas and Kayden and Troy and Lisa of course. We had so much fun! The fights were pretty good and Georges St-Pierre won the championship fight which is who we were rooting for! We hung out until midnight and it was so nice to get to talk to everyone.

Next week is probably going to be just as busy or busier and I can't wait!

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

I know that I am posting a little late but we are just barely recovering from the weekend. The good news is that we are done with Tirza's shopping and thanks to my awesome neighbor Hannah her presents are wrapped! Present wrapping must never be done solo because it sucks and takes forever. I had fun and Hannah's help made it go by so fast!

This week we have watched several episodes of Firefly and will be done with it just in time to start watching Big Bang Theory. Seasons 1 and 3 should be arriving next week so that we can start watching them! We watched Two Weeks Notice which is one of my favorite movies and Tyson has never seen it. We finally watched a movie that I've seen and Tyson hasn't! We watched the Sorcerer's Apprentice with our friend Brandie because she and Tyson have never seen it. I love it! We also watched From Paris with Love from Netflix. I loved that movie!! Plus it didn't hurt that Tyson looks a lot like Johnathan Rhys Meyers (Tyson is hotter though!).

I got to catch up with my friend Amber this week. I met her in the 7th grade since our older sisters were friends and we used to push her cat around in my doll stroller. She lives in Salt Lake but just happens to work at the Krispy Kreme down the street! She stopped by after work one day and we got to talk for a while. We made lunch and it was really nice to see her again. Hopefully I'll get to see more of her!

A lot of this week was spent in preparation for Tyson's friends Christmas party. Tyson has a unique group of friends. They grew up in the same neighborhood and have known each other almost 15 years and they all get along (mostly). It was a little nerve wracking meeting his friends for the first time when they've known each other for so long! This party is special for me and Tyson because it is where we met 2 years ago and now we're hosting it! We bought new decorations for the tree on Wednesday and it took 3 hours to put them up! My favorite part is the gel decorations on the mirror in the bathroom. It says 'Wish Big' and is green and red with a red present and red and green stars. They look like Jell-O! We moved some stuff around and cleaned the apartment on Thursday. I did most of it since Tyson was stressing and it was my day off. I must say it was pretty darn clean! On Friday we got some more stuff for the party and some paper plates and stuff since our dishwasher is broken. We are having dinner at the party and I did not want to hand wash all the dishes! The party started at 6 and went until almost 1 am. It was a lot of fun! We had 14 adults and 6 kids in our 1300 square foot apartment. It was chaos but fun chaos :) We had a full turkey dinner with veggies, fruit, rolls, chips and dip and cookies for dessert! The adults did a white elephant and the kids did a gift exchange. Tirza was very happy with her Tinkerbell scratch off activity book. The adults played Liar's Dice and had a good time talking. We were all completely exhausted after the party and I didn't end up making it through my entire graveyard shift. I also learned a very important lesson: clean after the party.

Saturday was also a day of parties. Tirza had a tea party in the morning and then a birthday party at Classic Skating that afternoon. She had gotten roller blades for her birthday in March and had just taken them out of the box. She wouldn't get off the carpet but I told her I'd hold her hand if she skated in the rink. That independent little girl held my hand for about 3 seconds and then she was off on her own! She would completely face plant and then get right back up again. She is such a determined kid and will try and try until she gets it right. She asked her dad to skate with her for the snow ball and it was really cute! Tyson is such a good dad. It was adorable seeing them together and I got some great pictures! The fun didn't stop after 3 parties. We went to Brandie's that night and all got together to play Last Night on Earth. It was a very busy weekend! Next week will probably be just as busy with the new dishwasher, new dressers and our 2 year anniversary!

Thanksgiving and Shopping

This was a busy and slightly stressful week! The biggest day of all being Thanksgiving of course. We picked up Tirza at 10:30 and then had Thanksgiving lunch at Mimi's Cafe with Tyson's parents and grandparents and it was so good! We had a good time talking and catching up. We went to Tyson's parents house and played Sequence and Bloody Smash with his mom and grandma and Tirza. We took Tirza home at 4 and then went to my family's house. We looked at Black Friday ads and talked to whoever happened to not be cooking. Dinner was delicious! Two Thanksgiving dinners in one day! We talked to my family for a bit but they were dropping like flies since they were all sleep deprived. We let them crash and went home to relax.

One of the best things about this week was the shopping! We got a new bed frame and night stands in September and we just ordered the two dressers that go with it! We get them on December 10th and I can't wait. Our room will finally match! We got the Blind Side, Zombieland, and the Dark Knight on Blu Ray and we got The Sword in the Stone, Batman Begins, The Grinch, The Iron Giant and a Barbie movie for Tirza. My favorite thing was the Big Bang Theory seasons 1-3 for $12.99 each! The best part was that I ordered it on Target.com and didn't have to fight the crowds! We got some couch pillows and another DVD case since ours is now overflowing. Now we're going to stay at home and watch all those DVDs since we are now too poor to do anything.

So we watched another Jean-Claude Van Damme movie this week called Universal Soldier. It was cool and was actually based in Clinton which is where Tirza lives 5 minutes away! We watched a few episodes of Bones and only have 2 episodes left in Season 5. Then we'll have to wait until season 6 comes out or watch them on Hulu. We finished Into the Wild and I was very disappointed. It had a slow plot and I didn't like the ending. We watched the first episode of Firefly and that was a pretty good series but it only had 14 episodes so we'll probably finish it pretty quick.

Tyson has a new favorite game. It is called Last Night on Earth and it is about the zombie apocalypse. You have the heroes and the zombies and there are different versions that you can play with different goals. At the start of each game you choose the corner pieces of the board that have different buildings so the game board is different every time. It is a very fun game and all of our friends are totally addicted to it. I can see us playing this game every weekend for a long time! Tyson has had it for a week and we've played it four times! It is a fun strategy game and it can keep everyone's attention. The best place to get it for anyone who is interested is boardgameguy.com and it is $35. You can select local pickup and you won't have to pay for shipping. It is addicting and fun!!

The night of the blizzard I was supposed to meet Nicole to cook snacks for the team meeting and then drive to Draper for it at 7. You can bet that didn't happen! The team meeting was cancelled and it was decided that travelling anywhere was not a good idea. Tyson left work before it hit and stopped by the store to get some D batteries and flashlights since ours were not in great shape. I got the camping lantern out of storage just in case the power went out. Tyson got some extra water and some emergency supplies we needed anyway. He was sitting in the Del Taco drive through when it hit. The wind was crazy! We had our balcony covered with snow and it was all the way up to our front door on the covered stairwell! It died down pretty early instead of lasting all night like everyone thought and we kept the blinds open so we could watch it. We had a friend over and hung out and watched a movie and then later had pie with our next door neighbors. It was nice not having to leave the apartment! I would never have gone anywhere in that. I was glad to have a relaxed night at home!

Not much else happened this week besides Thanksgiving and mass amounts of shopping. Hopefully next week we can report that we watched The Blind Side blu ray that we just bought since we haven't seen it yet! I hope its good :)

Christmas Pictures!

Last Week

I am annoyed that I'm posting late but this weekend was very busy and I felt yucky most of it. Lame!

The best thing that happened this week was pictures! It was so stressful and I don't think I EVER want to do pictures again but I am very glad to have it done. We got Tirza's dress on Saturday and it was the one I liked the most. We totally forgot to get her shoes so we got those Sunday right before we got ready along with some leggings. We got her boots and they are so cute :) We also got Tyson a really good looking sweater! He doesn't wear sweaters very much but I think I'm going to convince him to buy some more! I was really stressed right before pictures because it was snowing, I had to get me and Tirza ready and I'm still not used to having bangs so I had no idea how to get them to do what I want. Luckily Tyson is the nicest guy ever and hugged me while I cried my eyes out and then helped me get ready. We made it and took pictures outside in the snow. It was freezing but Tirza was SO good about it and so we got her ice cream after. Not what I would want but hey, she was happy. We got some really good shots and I am so excited to see them! We'll get them in about a week. We were all exhausted afterward and had just enough time to eat and change before we took Tirza home. Phew! I am so glad pictures are over with. Next time we won't wait so long and we'll take it before it snows so we don't freeze to death.

So this last week Tyson and I watched The Quest with Jean-Claude Van Damme. It was pretty awesomely bad. Tyson has a goal to get me to watch all the Arnold and Jean-Claude Van Damme movies. Yeah. All of them. We watched a few episodes of Bones and 10 painful minutes of Star Trek. I went and saw Harry Potter on Saturday with Tyson, my mom and Jeanne. It was good! I really liked it and can't wait for the next one!

I got to get glammed up this week. I got my haircut on Thursday and have bangs again for the first time in 5 years. I went to a Girls Night Out hosted by my cousin Amber and had my make up done. The make up artist drew eye brows on me and I think I looked like a cartoon character but everyone else had good things to say! I'll post pictures someday. I got a lip gloss, a new Scentsy scent, Big Sexy Hair samples, Mary Kay samples and Scentsy samples! It was awesome! I also won the grand prize in the drawing which was some super good conditioner. I am finally ready for pictures on Sunday. I've gotten my hair cut and dyed and finally have clothes!

We did lots of shopping this week. We got Christmas presents for Tirza, clothes for all of us for pictures and some much needed grocery shopping. I also hung out with Nicole at the mall which was really fun and got some pretty jewelry from American Eagle.

I got my second Bountiful Basket! It was awesome! I got 8 bananas, lettuce, celery, 15 clementines, a honeydew melon, 11 radishes, 6 pears, 8 apples, 7 red potatoes, 7 oranges, 6 tomatoes, 3 green peppers and 3 red onions. The best part? It was only $15! It is really fresh and the clementines are amazing!

My family came down last Sunday and that was pretty cool. I always love it when they come visit me! We had stir fry which is one of my favorite foods and Marissa made chocolate cake. It was so soft and yummy! We watched a ton of YouTube videos and watched Brandon and Wesley played Lego Batman. That game is so cool and its one that is enjoyable to watch.

Next week my post will actually be put on Sunday providing I don't feel as awful as I did this last Sunday!

Sunday, November 14, 2010

Hello again! It has been a good week with some days just hanging out on the couch and others hanging out with friends. The most exciting news is that I can finally walk down the stairs! This may not sound interesting to most of you but since I had knee surgery on September 1st I have been walking down stairs one at a time. Since I live on the third floor it takes a long time to get anywhere! Thankfully I am almost back to 100% if only my knee would stop popping!

Tyson and I have a new camera. We did not mean to get a new camera and we did not plan on getting one for a while but now we have one. Tyson and his brother Brandon bought their mom a camera for her birthday in September. When we arrived to her house for the birthday party she was playing with her new camera- from her husband Troy. Oops! She was going to take the camera back and forgot about it until it was too late and Wal-Mart wouldn't let us return it. So now we have a new camera! Hopefully we will take more pictures. Tyson and I have hardly any pictures of us!

I got spammed this week. It was very sad. My sister got spammed and then I did and it sent emails to everyone in my contacts. I knew I should have cleaned those out! It sent spam to old professors, classmates and friends that I hadn't talked to in years. Then I had to email them and tell them to delete it and change their password. I was very embarrassed! When I finally cleaned out my contacts I went from 45 to 17! Hopefully it will not happen again!

We went to Brandie's every day this week except for Thursday and Saturday. We had a lot of fun! We were there Sunday for Kayden's birthday and on Wednesday when we had Tirza. We went and played games on Friday and Tyson got second place in Liar's Dice! I was the second person to lose out of almost 10 people :)

We were very lucky and got to see a lot of family this week. My brother in law Logan is visiting from Ohio and I got to see him on Thursday and we talked about the class that he is here for that teaches him how to do implants. We talked a lot about dentistry and I find it so interesting! I've heard a lot of dentistry terms but since I've never needed anything but fillings I didn't know much about common procedures. Tyson and I went down on Saturday night and it was so much fun! We had dinner as a family and just talked for a few hours. I loved it! Logan is leaving Sunday and we are all sad to see him go! We got to have lunch on Saturday with Tyson's mom and brother Brandon. It was fun to see them and Tyson got to play video games with Brandon til the wee hours of the morning on Friday and Saturday night.

Sadly Tyson and I do not have much to report in the movie section. The only thing we have watched together this week are 2 episodes of Bones. We have been too busy to watch anything else! We love Bones and if we had had any time at all we would already be done with the 4 episode disc. Hopefully we can watch some this week!

The preparation still continues for pictures next week and I am getting closer! I got my hair dyed which I was pretty excited about. My hair was 2 different colors because my roots were 5 inches long. Its been a long time since I colored my hair! Marissa was kind enough to do it for me and it turned out awesome! Its a warm brown so it brings out all the red in my hair. I also bought new nail polish. I have not gotten nail polish in 5 years and all the stuff I have isn't good anymore. I love new girly stuff! I got a light pink, a medium purple with pink shimmer, lime green and magenta. I am so happy about it :) Next week we will go shopping for clothes and hopefully find something for me and Tyson. I found some super cute dresses at Kohl's for Tirza. I hope we find something that works!

I hope everyone has a great week!

Sunday, November 7, 2010

So I have finally started a blog. Its nothing fancy especially since I don't know how to work it but hopefully it'll make it easier for everyone to keep track of what I'm doing since I don't get to see everyone as often as I want.

Tyson and I love movies. There are SO many movies that I haven't seen so every week we watch a few new ones thanks to Netflix. Last week we watched Layer Cake which according to Tyson's friend was the 'best gangster movie ever'. I don't think we agreed with him. It was an okay movie and had a decent plot but at the end it felt like not much happened and there wasn't any particular part that was exciting like you would expect from a gangster movie. We also got Bones Season 5 Disc 3 and we watched all 4 episodes in one night! It was so much fun. Tyson and I love that series and it is probably our favorite TV show besides Pushing Daisies. The most exciting thing for me this week was that we bought Toy Story 3! I love Disney movies and we watched it on Wednesday with our awesome next door neighbors. On Sunday we watched the new Alice in Wonderland which was entertaining and an interesting take on the classic but I don't think Tyson or I would ever watch it again.

Tirza has told us that she doesn't have many friends and I've become good friends with a lady at work named Nicole who just happens to have 2 daughters around Tirza's age. On Saturday we invited them over and had ramen for lunch and everyone watched Toy Story 3 because most of Nicole's kids haven't seen it. They loved it and I of course didn't mind watching it again! The kids played and everyone had a lot of fun! Nicole and I got to chat and I loved playing with her 7 month old daughter Savannah. We've been trying to plan a movie night forever and I was so glad that it finally happened and turned out so well!

This weekend we spent a lot of time with Brandie and Josh Page and their kids since it is our weekend with Tirza. Tirza and their daughter McKenzie love to play and have sleepovers and do girl stuff together so we spend a lot of time with them on weekends we have Tirza. This weekend was special because we were celebrating Kayden's birthday! He is turning 5 next weekend but Josh works so they celebrated it Sunday. He got a lot of Transformers which are his favorite thing and the kids got sugar which is their favorite thing! We saw Megamind and it was really good! The kids loved it and got to overload on more sugar so they were happy :)

In other news we got Tirza some bows and a tutu (which are apparently all the rage) for Christmas and I can't wait to give them to her! We had the bows custom made by one of Brandie's friends and they turned out amazing! They are so detailed and one of them even has a little bottle cap charm that has a T on it. We got the original Tinker Bell movie when we joined the Disney movie club and will probably add Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue to her secret stash of presents soon.

Tyson is adapting well to his company being bought and the new managers are already noticing him. His manager Fred told him that in one of the manager meetings his name was brought up without Fred prompting it! Tyson is a very dedicated employee and puts 110% into his job so I am not surprised! The center that Tyson is at does things differently than the company that bought them so they are trying to decide if they will change it to their way of doing things or leave it the way it is. Either way, Tyson is ready for it!

We have been shopping lately for clothes for our pictures that we are getting done for Christmas cards. We are doing a red and black theme and I have found some really cute dresses for Tirza and have yet to find a red sweater for me. Pictures are the 21st so hopefully we find something by then! I am going to try to post every Sunday so you'll hear from me next week!
